Freshness and quality at the time of freezing affect the condition of frozen purée . Store all foods at 0° F or lower to retain vitamin content, color, flavor and texture.Freezing process itself does not destroy nutrients.
For optimal quality and nutrient retention, keep frozen baby food cubes in the freezer for a maximum of 3 months. But I recommend always recommend using within 1 month if at all possible.
If you plan on freezing baby food, start with a few of the following fruits and vegetables that do not lose much in the way or taste or texture when frozen in pureed form:
Sweet Potatoes
Peas
Cauliflower
Blueberries
Broccoli
Cherries
Beets
Carrots
Pumpkin
Strawberries
Beans and lentils
Butternut squash
Food that don't freeze well
Bananas
Pears
Plums
Avocados
Apricots
Pears
Kiwi
Cucumbers
