Down syndrome check

Helloo! Im 12 weeks pregnant and I have opt for the down syndrome checks. I just want to know if any of you mummies have gone through it. And what are the process? I've read few articles and some places will take the amniotic fluid(is it true?), but some just ultrasound and blood test. Help?? 🥴
