Have anyone said u all before... 'how you all be parents one?' like disapprove the way u take care of your kid. How do you feel?

Oh yes, I think almost every parent has heard something like this at some point, whether from in-laws, older relatives, or even other parents at the playground. It stings, but I've learnt to first ask myself honestly whether the person actually means well and has my child's interest at heart, because if they do, sometimes there is a small nugget worth hearing even if the delivery was awful. That said, if it is just pure judgment with no good intention behind it, you really don't owe them a long explanation, a calm, short response and then moving on protects your own energy. Someone in my mum group mentioned that finding even one or two other parents who share your values makes a huge difference, because you stop feeling like you are the only one doing things "differently." At the end of the day, we all get judged and we all judge a little too, the key is not letting other people's opinions shake your confidence in the choices you know are right for your own child.
