Anyone have GDM?

How did u manage it when you need to keep track of your blood sugar 7x a day when you are working? What happened when you missed to test before u eat or post 2hrs? Do u just skip it or?

Oh, I totally get how stressful that sounds, especially juggling work and testing seven times a day. Honestly, most working mums I know either set phone alarms at their desk or just tested when they could, if they missed a slot before eating, they'd test after the meal instead and note it down; the point is catching the pattern rather than hitting every single test perfectly. A few mums said their dietitian was actually okay with adjusted timing if work was really hectic, so it's worth asking your own doctor or specialist if you can shift the schedule slightly to fit your day better. The bigger thing I heard is that the testing becomes less stressful once you realise what foods trigger your levels, after a week or two, you kind of know what you can eat without spiking, and then you can be smarter about which tests matter most. And just so you know, GDM doesn't end at delivery; quite a few mums I know were surprised they had to get retested again after the baby came, so that's something to flag with your clinic now so you're not caught off guard later. Hope your workplace is flexible enough to let you step away for the pricks. Wishing you all the best with managing this!

Me. Yes I track but because my diet was already low carbs, I was quite safe. Try adding Psyllium husk to your breakfast daily as it's fibrous and helps absorbs carbs throughout the day. Drink lots of water and move more. Eat wholemeal carbs if possible. Chew and eat slowly. All the above helps me maintain low glucose.
