Yes! Wall decals do the trick for us. We started with a jungle theme when our son was born and now have a train theme running across the room - wall decal with a choo choo train and animals in the coaches, a customised clock with a train, and a very cool book shelf with a train that I ordered from the US. Makes the room so cheerful and cosy, and our son loves spending time in his room.
I don't have a spare room for a nursery but if I do, I'd like a nautical theme for my son and a carnival-like theme for my daughter
