There is no conclusive research but some studies have shown that newborns can recognise their mother's voice immediately after birth, and even while baby is still in the womb. As for visual recognition, some studies suggest babies can recognise their parents' faces within days of birth, but others say it could take up to 2 months. Breastfeeding can also contribute to recognition of mother's face due to the close proximity.
