is maid necessary for twins?

Hi! Just found that I'll be having twins and i intend to engage a confinement nanny for 1st month. My friend said having a maid is necessary to take care of twins but my house is too tiny to have additional person staying with us. Any experience in engaging regular (daily) part time helpers for chores and bottle washing? Is having a full time helper really necessary?

Super Mom

I’ll be honest. Handling one baby is already very tiring. Don’t be outnumbered. Get help.. Who you engage depends on what help you want/need, and also how much money you’re able to spend. If you’re going to be very hands on with your kids, you’ll need more help with chores and getting food. You’ll also need someone trustworthy to watch the kids while you shower/eat/rest in between. Initially when your milk supply is lower, you may need someone to help you with feeding one of the babies. If your babies go through colic, they will need to be carried for long periods and held close. No matter how strong you are, carrying one screaming baby is already tiring. Carrying 2 would be hard. Many mummies are like superwoman, juggling many things and trying to be independent. But there will be days you become very emotional and burnt out. On those days, you’d need at least a little break from your babies just for a while. So if you ask me, it’s best to have someone who’s always there to help you.. you can’t always predict when exactly (time of the day) you’ll need the help. Your husband will also need to help as much as he can:)
