When to start getting baby essential items?

Just found out ytd that i'm pregnant! The line was so dark and it came up immediately. According to flo, i'm 5w3d based on Lmp. Still waiting for KKH to get back to the clinic to set the appointment date. Feeling nervous and panicky. Just at loss as to when it's safe to start buying baby items etc.

2nd trimester around 5-6months after knowing baby gender. This was when I strat slowly buying baby stuffs and 3ventually preparing diaper bag for when I have to go hospital. They say 2nd trimester is the best cause you no longer have nausea and your body feels stronger and energetic, unlike 1st and 3rd trimester
