had my first baby too in nov 2025 at KKH.
based on my experience - subsidised route, referral from polyclinic, didn’t choose gynae so was under subsidised rate all the way and only saw doctor at KKH and nowhere else, i chose A ward for delivery. natural birth, stayed 3 days for baby and I - total bill for MAMA came up to 12K before subsidy. they will ask if you followed through antenatal check all at KK and they will factor in the cost in the 12K automatically thru checking their system so you don’t need to do anything. they will deduct out in final bill. if not, you need to give receipt if not KKH (don’t know if they will factor in, maybe you can ask if it’s applicable to your case.)
final bill payment:
Medisave $4.7K
Cash $7.3K, less $2.3K antenatal exp at KKH. out of pocket CASH $4.9K
Note: BABY expenses is another charge separate, my husband paid for it so i cant recall how much and whether cash or medisave.
*update 24/8 1130pm: all medisave for baby, ard $1.3K deducted*
Also do note that you will need to factor $ in unforeseen situations (TOUCHWOOD) e.g. if need emergency c sec, or complications that need treatment or longer hospitalisation. etc. these will likely be considered a ward charges $$
my suggestion - Talk to the medical social worker or the staff at financial counselling side so you know what other cost there are, then decide based on affordability.
good luck mummy! ☺️
