Honestly, I did private at KKH for my first and I'm glad I did, but it really depends on your budget and what matters most to you. The ward A privacy is nice, but the thing is, you can also do semi-private or even standard ward if you want to save costs but still get decent comfort. Payment-wise, you can use your Medisave for the delivery and hospital stay, then pay the remaining balance either upfront or via installment plans depending on your package, so it's not all cash out at once. My suggestion is to call KKH's maternity department directly and ask them to break down the costs for private vs semi-private, because honestly the difference might be smaller than you think, and they can also tell you about payment options. Don't stress too much about the privacy factor either, because honestly once you're in labour you won't really care about the view. I think the best approach is to get the exact numbers first before deciding, then you can see what fits your family's finances.

You can get a referral letter to KKH for Sub then later on at 30wk+ u can op to change to private . The birth costs will be according to ward rates. So at least for check up can save some $

Yes definitely. Sub route you will see different doctors but if you are private, you will see the same dr. Of course, the cost differs.
