Congrats on your first baby! Just to set expectations, what's available here isn't really "maternity insurance" in the full sense; it's more pregnancy complications coverage, so it won't cover your normal delivery costs, only things like gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, or NICU stays. That said, it can still be worth having for peace of mind, and a few names that came up when I was asking around were AIA and AXA, both of which have prenatal plans that can be transferred to your baby after birth within a certain window, AIA's combo plan apparently even gives guaranteed issuance for the baby's life and critical illness coverage, which is a nice bonus. BUPA also came up as one that covers consultations, delivery complications, and NICU, so worth comparing. The main trade-off is really cost versus how much risk you want to cover, some mums feel it's unnecessary if your MediShield Life already handles complications, while others prefer the extra buffer especially for NICU, which can get expensive fast.
