Sound of bones pop when carry by armpit

Everytime when I carry my baby by her armpit I can hear her bone pop. After many months I told my mum and she ask me to carry her by the ribcage. I've been carrying her for many months by her armpit and I scare she will be in pain. So far she doesn't cry or there isnt any swollen.
