I haven't done spinal myself but a few of my mum friends who had spinal for their C-section said the injection feels like pressure and a pinch more than sharp pain, maybe a 3-4 out of 10, and then it goes numb pretty quickly so you don't feel much after that. The thing is, everyone's pain tolerance is different, and your anaesthetist is usually really good at talking you through it to help you stay calm, which makes a big difference. Since you've already experienced epidural before, the spinal needle is actually smaller and quicker, so it might feel less intense than you're imagining. Definitely chat with your anaesthetist about your concerns when you see them before the surgery, they can explain exactly what to expect and answer all your questions.

Iv had two pregnancy’s with spinal numb before epidural both times. All I can say is that, everyone has a very different experience and you’ve got this. First child- very smooth I dint really feel uneasy at all. Second child- waah those 5 mins when they injected epidural after the spinal numb was intense. Not the pain. I just felt nauseous and wanted to puke and had to stay still and in a odd position, it was just a really rough 5 mins till I got numb till my toes and then the nausea passed
