Wah 7-8 years old DOM that one quite long lah but since DOM is a herbal liqueur with high alcohol content it actually keeps quite well and doesn't really expire if stored properly in cool dry place! For unopened one should still be fine to use, for the half used one just smell and taste a little to make sure no funny smell or taste before using in cooking. For pregnancy dishes the classic ones are DOM chicken with red dates and ginger, DOM with eggs, and DOM steamed fish which are all very popular confinement recipes, but for breastfeeding mummies please note that alcohol does pass through breast milk so best to wait at least 2-3 hours after consuming DOM dishes before breastfeeding baby, and since DOM dishes are usually consumed in small amounts during cooking most alcohol evaporates lah but still better to be safe and check with your gynae or LC if you are unsure!
