First trimester Dating scan

Doc wrote a referral to KKH for a dating scan. She told me it’s to check a more accurate EDD and for Down syndrome etc. But I just read online that it’s only for selected cases. It’s for women who may have miscarriages or serious illnesses before. Should I be worried and did she not tell me something I should know?

I was subsidised patient at KKH and also had the dating scan. Think it’s standard here

no!! absolutely not due to possible issues..in fact the dating/nuchal translucency scans are what help to screen the baby for the more rough structural stuff and also have a better EDD estimate. these are pretty routine at NUH/KKH, even as private patient. gestational age is important to know so they have a baseline to track the baby's growth in later trimesters too :) am 12weeks+ now, just did the NT scan on Mon!
