Is this ezcema or fungal infection

Doc told us it was fungal infection that happened due to ezcema. Prescribed pristinex cream but looked worse n more red and flaky. Anyone experienced before? Is this really fungal infection?

I applied steroids and cream on my baby, prescribed by doctor and it went away.
