Do you let your baby play in the sand pit? I believe they are very unhygienic.

As much as we would like to protect our kids from unwanted germs and bacteria. It it actually okay for the kids to play around sand pits. It is a great sensory play, helps them to ignite the curiosity of their senses. You may even find that your kid is scared about sand(due to the feelings they feel upon touching the sand) Always educate kids how to clean up and wash up after playing in a sand pit. From there, the kids will know that whenever they are playing outdoor. Personal hygiene is very important!

I think you shouldn't overthink things. In that case, pretty much everything else is unhygienic -- playgrounds, the seaside and schools. Plenty of children play in sandpits around the world and they are fine. If I were you, I'd let baby play in sandpit and supervise him or her to make sure that baby does not get injured or eat anything that he or she shouldn't. And when we get home, I'll make sure that baby gets a thorough bath and shower.

I do feel it is unhygienic if the sand pit is accessible by dogs. Otherwise, I am perfectly fine for my kids to play in the sand pit, as it is a very great activity for sensory play. You can bring your kid to Science Centre's Kidstop. There is a sandpit which I feel it is quite fun for the kids and definitely safe and hygiene as compared to outdoor one. https://www.kidsstop.edu.sg/contact-us
