Do babies need sunblock when they're taken out during the times of the day when sunlight is harshest?

It is important to protect babies from the harmful effects of the sun because ababy’s skin is more delicate than that of an adult. Sunblock lotion is not recommended for infants below six months. For those above six months, you can choose sunblock specially formulated for children. Still, it is always good to first do a test on a small patch of your child’s skin to check for allergic reaction. Otherwise, you can also protect your baby by keeping him/her out of direct sunlight when you are out (umbrellas with UV protection, stroller with canopy). Dress your child in light-coloured outfits.
