Heard quite good things about NUH subsidised C-section actually, one mum I know said with Medisave and government subsidy her final out-of-pocket came to zero, which was a big reason she chose subsidised over private in the first place. The trade-off is that for elective C-sections, you don't get full flexibility on the date since they only schedule it on certain days, so if you have a very specific date in mind that might frustrate you a little. On the care side, some mums appreciate that NUH does try to incorporate skin-to-skin in the first hour after delivery even for C-sections, which is a nice touch, and the level of medical expertise there is solid, reassuring especially if complications come up, since the NICU and specialist support are all under one roof. Overall, most feedback I've heard leans positive for the subsidised route, especially if cost is a real consideration for you.
