Resigning after maternity leave

Is it common for mummies to resign after maternity leave? I'm in a dilemma, baby has priority now but I don't know if I should give up my job.

I didnt resign after ML. I change from FT to PT under the same company with consent as well as agreement from my management. Subsequently when everything gets better, I took a year contract with the same company too. I didnt take the drastic decision to resign till the second pregnancy when my health wasn't at my best.
