Can I add cereal to my baby's formula in the night to make him sleep better?

It is recommended that you avoid putting cereal in a bottle when baby should be getting all the nutrition he or she needs from breast milk or formula. This practice could put your baby at risk for excess weight gain, because he or she can wind up getting more calories than needed. It's akin to an adult eating alot before bedtime, never good for the tummy and overall health in the long run. A healthy baby eating a regular diet should be able to sleep through the night on its own by about 6 months. http://www.parents.com/baby/sleep/basics/baby-sleep-myths-busted/

Please avoid putting cereal in bottle, as baby might choke on the lumpy texture while drinking from bottle. In fact, your baby's night waking doesn't really associate with whether his tummy full or not. Some babies wake up at night to seek for comfort. If you suspect the night waking is due to hunger, you can tank up your baby during the day by nursing more frequent instead of introduce formula milk.
