Can Braxton Hicks contractions be painful? I’m currently in week 29 of my pregnancy and in recent weeks I’ve experienced 4 really painful episodes of such contractions. It feels like very bad menstrual cramps and comes in waves and feels like clenching and releasing of the uterus. One episode usually lasts around 10 minutes or less. It happens in my lower abdomen, what feels like below my baby bump. There are no accompanying symptoms other than the very bad menstrual like cramps.
