bb has a birth mark at the ankle area. quite big patch. like blue black. will it be visible as they grow up? afraid will be ugly for girls...

My 4.5yo still has it even though slightly faded. People tell me it will disappear but most of her marks are still there. She has on her back, knees, ankles and back of her hands. "Mongolian spots are very common in any part of the body of dark-skinned babies. They are flat, gray-blue in color (almost looking like a bruise), and can be small or large. hmm.. I think it will help if you just treat it normally and simply tell your child that it is a birthmark and she is born with it. This will help her learn to acknowledge it as just a part of her and hopefully not be too conscious about it in future (just in case it doesn't fade).

Since it is at the ankle area, not really a big concern and not that visible. Better than at her face or arms. Maybe, next time you visit your pedia, you can ask him.

If it's birthmark, than no choice it's unavoidable, but we should be happy that it's not on the face. So look on the bright side.
