About six fingers

My baby girl has six fingers on right hand and join thumb on left hand. We are planning to arrange operation while she is 1 year old. Any advice/comments from those parents who encounter similar case?

Hi Mama, Most babies with thumb duplication get surgery. The surgery removes the extra thumb and, if needed, rebuilds the remaining thumb. The hand is usually put in a cast for a few weeks after surgery. Occupational therapy (OT) and home exercises can help if a child needs help to learn to use the thumb. It’s overall not too complex. Don’t worry ok?

Thanks for your comment, it helps. What make me worry is during anesthesia, not sure any side effect to baby. 😔
