maybe for now your friend can orientate her with the daily tasks like simple household chores for now. but when baby arrives, the helper will need to include tasks like helping to prepare baby's bath, prepare milk feeds or feed baby, wash baby's clothes and bedding so she knows that it's part of her duties cos that's when the "Real" work comes after baby is here :) she can put up a timetable for the helper to follow but also need to tell her that certain things may be ad-hoc (for eg help to change diapers), to prepare the helper that she needs to be flexible too. hope that helps :)

I would say get familiarised with the daily tasks first. Then slowly introduce baby related activities using a dummy or a doll. After individual task training has been given then can start telling her about routines. But we all know that babies love to throw our routines out of the window. Hahaha.

Hi there! My friend advised to have a routine in place for the helper. Let her know exactly what the expectations are and the things she needs to do, so that it sets things straight from the start. And training for her as well to get her familiarise with the family's lifestyle.

Thank you Melissa. Can you share an example of how to set a routine? I mean I don't want to start her routine to include household tasks which she will not have to do after the baby is here. I mean I don't want to confuse her.
