Irregular period after giving birth

Question

Anyone had sudden irregular period after giving birth? Even almost a year PP. My period has been i would say quite regular to me after giving birth, ranging from 35-43 days, and i would ovulate between day 14-29, tested using strips.However my last period was july, i only ovulated day 39, and usually after 2 weeks of ovulation i would get my period, but now already 3 weeks no period. And nope im not pregnant, have done the test and also no intercourse done.Any mummies facing same thing? I know i can go clinic to check but just wondering. Im close to a year PP.I dont intend to get pregnant btw.

Honestly, what youre going through sounds pretty par for the course at close to a year postpartum, cycles can stay unpredictable for quite a while, and a delayed ovulation like day 39 can just push everything back, so a late period after that isnt too surprising. From what Ive generally heard, some womens cycles settle into something totally different from their pre-pregnancy normal, and it can honestly take years for things to fully stabilise, one thing Ive come across is that it can take up to seven years for your cycle to fully go back to how it was before. The fact that your ovulation was unusually late this round could be the main reason your period is delayed, since if you ovulated on day 39, three weeks after that would still be within a reasonable window. That said, since its a noticeable shift from your usual pattern and its lingering, its still worth popping by your gynae just to rule out anything else going on hormonally, better to have peace of mind with a proper check rather than second-guess yourself.
