Hi there mummy, Red cell antibodies develops when your husband bloods cell landed unto you via the pregnancy. Resulting your body to react to it and develop antibodies in your blood system as it thinks is a tread. There are 2 possibilities from Red cell antibodies. The O&G clinic will need to take more blood test to check on how strong the antibodies attach on your cell. 1. It show no harm to the pregnancy. 2. It show harm to the pregnancy with a fail filtering blood test of more than 30times on your blood, and the antibodies still present. In this case, a closer and regular blood monitoring is require to ensure the well being of the baby. Example: Biweekly or monthly, details bloods on 28weeks of pregnancy, etc. Personally I’m currently at my second pregnancy( third trimester), and was also told of having Red cell antibodies during early stage of my pregnancy, however Thank God that it doesn’t harm my pregnancy. However i require to carry a HSA card stated that i have antibodies in my blood to alarm the healthcare workers. I may need special blood transfusion with antibodies clearance if the need arises. However, as long as my little one is good then all this is small matter. Don’t be too worry of the outcome. Majority of the results is “No harm to the baby”. All the best to you😊. Take care.
