Instead of buying, you can also consider asking people for them - there are many zero waste enthusiasts who keep whatever straws they use (accidentally) and reuse them at home, also some Facebook groups like Art Don't Throw (SG) where people give away their items that are no longer in use for others to make crafts/repurpose them!
I've gotten some plastic straws and bottle from others already, also doing some crafts :)
