Hi Ameetess! I remember as a child, I really despise eating ampalaya. There was a time I was left in the dining table alone for not eating the only "ulam" mama served us. Everyone in the family eats it except for me. She thought this would make me eat it but I ended up crying instead. I won't definitely recommend that method to anyone.haha! But the ampalaya recipe that mama made quickly turned me a convert. It's the "Adobong Ampalaya".. If you'd like to try it, I can call my mama for the recipe :) yes?
Ampalaya with Pork and Egg is tolerable for kids. What my grandma always does before, she would squeeze out the bitter juice out of it with salt and water, let it rest for a few good minutes then cook. I used to hate ampalaya but growing up, it became one of my faves.
