The cough and reduced appetite can linger a bit longer, sometimes up to a week or two, and I will be honest, I have heard of a handful of kids who had it rough for a couple of weeks, so it is not always the quick two-day thing some people expect. My neighbour brought her toddler for the flu jab last year and said the same thing, mild fever the first day was fine, but the cough dragged on because her girl picked up something else from school around the same time.
