Hi, we have a pet rabbit at home which is recently under palliative care currently. Just wanted to check if daily activities (i.e. cleaning of little box, hugging, giving headrubs) with the bunny can affect pregnant ladies? #advicepls #firstbaby #pets

Hi! bunnies are generally pretty clean creatures so shouldn't be much of an issue? I fostered 2 cats throughout my pregnancy, 1 with FIV & did most of the work myself like clearing litterbox, feeding & all & had no issues 😬 Also have dogs of my own, 1 sheds & the other has skin problems n I meal prep their food on top of all that, they eat raw. At the end of the day just be sure to wash ur hands & all & honestly it's up to personal comfort lvls I guess?

Feeling the urge to get another cat

Idk why but as I'm reaching my due date, I have this sudden urge and desire to get another cat. I already have one senior cat and he's like my first child and my forever baby. Now I can't seem to stop thinking about getting a second cat, even though I know it's not a good idea. Is this just hormones? Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me? #pregnancy #pets

Oh, this is totally the nesting instinct talking! It's hormonal and very real, many mums feel this sudden urge to nurture and prepare their space as they get closer to baby time, so wanting another cat makes complete sense. That said, I'd be honest with you: adding a second cat right now is probably not the best timing, especially with your senior boy and a newborn coming. A friend went through the same thing and held off until three months after her baby was born, and she said the hormonal fog cleared by then and she was grateful she waited, the energy to manage multiple cats alongside a newborn was just a lot more than she'd imagined. The nesting feeling will pass, and your senior cat will likely appreciate the calmer household when baby arrives. If the urge is still strong after a few months postpartum and life settles, you can always revisit it then when you're in a better place to judge what's right for your family!
