I did mine before the border opened (submit and collection within a week). You can submit your application, then email in your confinement details for them to expedite your NB’s passport.

Hey mummy’s how long do u have to wait for baby passport to be approved? When can collect? #passport

right after you get birth cert and take photo of baby with both eyes open, apply the passport online first. then if you have JB confinement receipt to prove that you need to go JB for confinement, you can go down to ica the next day to ask them to speed up the process. you probably get within 2 working days. that's how I got mine speed up
