Private gynae Dr Vanaja

Hi, may i know if anyone have any experiences from Dr Vanaja in NUH? How was your labour process with her and did she do an episiotomy on you? Because from the way she explain, she strongly encourage me to lean on episiotomy and the disadvantages if i dont opt for it. anyone can share their experiences with her?

I don't have direct experience with Dr Vanaja personally, but I think it's really worth having a frank conversation with her about your concerns, because some gynae do have a stronger preference for episiotomy and it helps to understand her specific reasoning for your case. A friend of mine also felt a bit pressured by her gynae on this topic and she found that asking directly "what are the risks for me specifically if we try to avoid it" helped her feel more in control of the decision. If you're still unsure after talking to her, getting a second opinion from another gynae before your due date is always an option lah, it's your birth and you should feel comfortable with the plan.
