Do you know that 3% of women develop breast cancer while breastfeeding?
Hi mommies! Today is #WorldCancerDay and I have an important message to share especially to all mothers who has been following me on social media. Often we are informed that breastfeeding reduces our chance of developing breast cancer later in life. But do you know that 3% of women develop breast cancer while breastfeeding (Herman S, et al, 2012)? I know now because I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 18 December 2019. I stopped breastfeeding that night which meant I have breastfeeding my little girl for 37 months. I had already underwent a surgery in early January 2020 and is now confirmed to have HER2 positive early breast cancer. As such, I'll be commencing chemotherapy next week as part of a 16 months long treatment plan. To breastfeeding mothers out there (and women of all ages), please continue to perform the monthly self-examination so that you can monitor for any changes to your breasts. Never hesitate to seek medical advice if you discover a lump - get it checked so that you know whether it's breastfeeding related e.g. blocked milk duct, mastitis, etc or something more serious like a cancerous lump. Remember that we have little ones who need us and #earlydetectionsaveslives. Đọc thêmOne of the most frequently asked questions about babywearing if the person using a baby carrier can sit down on a chair and has a meal. Here you go! ? The answer is yes. Yesterday, after a heavy breakfast, I joined my sister and her partner to visit an attraction in Ipoh. Little girl was so tired after all the walking and other activities that all she wanted was to nurse and to have a nap. With my ring sling kept in my diaper bag, I managed to provide my little one with a safe spot for her needs while I enjoyed some delicious afternoon snacks and a robust discussion. One of the benefits babywearing bring to parents especially for new parents is the ability to enjoy some social time with their friends while having their babies with them. I remember being a new mom and before I knew about babywearing, I was always at home while yearning to connect with my peers in person for the sake of my mental health. Yes, I was tired (and still am) while navigating my ways through the tasks of taking care of a new baby. But I miss having chats with other adults. Did you or are you experiencing the same? Let's share so that we know we are not alone. #mysunshinebliss #babywearingbenefit #certifiedbabywearingconsultant #babywearingmom #mentalhealthmatters #youmatter

Throwback to my second Christmas with my little girl! Luckily by then I have learnt to babywear and this was us celebrating Christmas with a ring sling. Usually during the festive seasons, our little ones will meet many relatives for the first time and this can be quite scary for them. Babywearing will allow your little ones to learn about their extended families by watching your interaction with the relatives from a safe and familiar spot. Do you want to learn to use a ring sling this Saturday (7 Dec)? Come meet me at Gita Bayu Clubhouse, Seri Kembangan from 2pm to 5pm. Hi there! How is your mid-week? As you might know, I am a Malaysian mama of China descent. I can trace my ancestor roots to Guangxi, China. I had in fact visited my ancestral village back in 2013. Do you know that the Meh Dai originated from China? I get so excited to see actresses using Meh Dai in TVB period dramas such as The Ghetto Fabulous Lady. It really shows that historically babywearing had been playing a big role in everyday parenting life. In my sling library, I have 2 Meh Dais; a full Meh Dai from Didymos (as shown in the photo) and a full Meh Dai with padded shoulder straps from Daiesu. Join my babywearing class this Sunday and try on both! Swipe left for details. Please PM me to reserve your spot.
