Hello mummies. I am using spectra s1. Pump. There is milk when I am on massage mode but very little or no milk when I switch to expression mode. Also after pumping for 30 mins I only have 40ml from both boobs. Any one experiencing the same?

I think it varies from person. I had more milk expressed on the maximum strength with the highest frequency for that strength on expression mode. I will use the massage mode for like less than 1 min b4 switching to the maximum strength to save time. Milk supply takes a month plus to kick in for me. First week is like 40ml for both but gradually, can get 200ml each boob. Just rest well, eat well and pump more.

Hi... My LO latches 20min on one side and fell asleep. Hence I need to pump the other side. I was wondering should I let him latch 10mins on one side each or let him latch on one side only and pump the other 1 out. TIA!

It’s best for baby to latch on for at least 15 minutes on one side to ensure both the foremilk (more watery, quenches thirst) and hindmilk (thicker, more fatty and nutritious) go into baby’s tummy. By pumping out the other side, you ensure that when you feed that batch of milk to baby later on, all the nutrients will also be adequate for that feed:)

It’s a prescription medication, if I’m not wrong. Otherwise, to do it naturally, cold compressions and gradual weaning will do the trick, but it’s slower.

Baby too attached to latching.

Hello Mommies that DL. Do you all face issues with baby being too attached to latching? Even wake up to latch? I’m planning to stop when my baby is 1. Now I’m worried if it’s hard to wean him off by then

Have you started bottle training? For those of us who’ve breastfed for a long time, our babies get really used to it and don’t want to stop.. so we need to bottle train them to get them to drink from the bottle more and more, cutting down the DL. It’s a process of weaning..

I breastfeed my baby mostly and give formula in the afternoon once and at night. Sometimes if i go out my mum helps to take care of her and feeds her formula milk. Recently she rejects me when i try to breastfeed her in the afternoon but once given formula she starts drinking. Anyone here experience anything like this?
