Giving birth at NUH

Hi all mummies who gave birth at NUH, what will the doctor provide for baby when they are born? Do we need to bring our own milk bottles, diapers, swaddle etc? And will NUH give us a baby shower tub to bring home?

5 years ago I remember just gift bag, all the JB pampers, wipes and your stuff like maternity pad, undies all can bring home after discharge. You just have to bring your own clothes, toiletries, baby home clothes, swaddle, caps. No shower tub given and no need milk bottle as it will be provided should let say you need to formula feed.

Hello mummies, do your gynae offer induced labour at Week 39? My gynae recommended me to do as im petite. Would like to know if its okay ?

I am petite both pregnancy exceed EDD at 41 weeks 1 day and 40 weeks 2 days respectively. Only first pregnancy induced but not the second pregnancy due to some issue. It was successful but both pregnancy I took jab, gas, epidural. Long labours for both at 17 hrs +/- and 12 hrs +/- I would advice always be prepare for other birth method if things don't go your way. Like my first was vacuum assisted delivery otherwise will be emergency C section. Induced can be painful then natural therefore pain tolerance level has to be high.

Stroller, car seats, breast pump, sterilizer and etc.

Stroller - Keenz air Car seat - NA (we don’t drive but we used Bonbijou borrowed from friends, which works well for us). Breast pump - Baby express Steriliser - Haenim Towels - Taobao Handkerchiefs/burp cloths - Shopee Body wash & lotion - Cetaphil baby Tummy oil - Ruyee Nail file/comb - Shopee Cot - NA (up to you, can look into Jarrons) If cosleeping - Baby nest Oral wipes - NUK Nappy rash cream - Sudocrem Breast pads - Pigeon Nipple cream - Thomson essentials Baby wipes - Hoppi/Bebeen/Einmilk/Oldam Pacifier - Avent ultra soft Pacifier clip - Shopee Swaddles - Muslin cloth (Shopee) Carrier - Ergobaby Omni 360 mesh Waterproof mat - Babylove (shopee) Diapers can continue whatever hospital is using if baby is okay with it. Usually Huggies naturemade. Bottles - Avent. Don’t stock, wait till baby tried and confirm okay with it then you buy. Above is what my nb uses.

Hi mummies, what is the best way / routine to increase milk supply?

Drink more water, eat well and don’t stress. Take sunflower lecithin to thin out your milk, pump after a warm shower if needed. Don’t skip pumps. You can also try supplements, I’m taking legendairy milk’s bundle (3 types + sunflower lecithin).

Exercises at 32 weeks?

Anyone still physically active at 32 weeks? Been running for the last 32 weeks but not sure if I should continue for the remaining weeks.

I know lots of mommies who were active till delivery :)

Gynae doesn't allow HL even when I'm having left plevic pain for quite a while.

My gynae doesn't allow me to take HL until 37 weeks. I'm currently 32 weeks .I'm suffering from pelvic pain on my left side causing me to have difficulty walking normally or sleeping. I got to wear the support belt to help me with walking. My jobs require a lot of bending or walking. Anyone facing some issue with pelvic pain ? When should I be concern if the pain persists #firsttimemom

i had it too it was very bad. ask for painkillers..

May I check how frequently do you mummies go for checkup and ultrasound at week 32 and after?

Week 32, 36, 38, 39 then EDD. I dont have ultrasound but just fetal hearing, membrane sweep and cervix check.

Hi mummies, im 30 w today and i feel no appetite at all … i can oonly eat breakfast and no appetite for the rest of the day. Issit normal pls advise:(

I'm 31 weeks now and I feel exactly the same. I only have breakfast and have no appetite throughout the day. I can even skip lunch and dinner and I feel fine. but it's good to have fruits or something small to munch on if you're not having lunch or dinner. simple food like bread, oats or nestum.

Can we claim all delivery charged under both Mom MMP & then use Dad Medisave?

hi! wanted to ask, can all the delivery charges can be covered by both parents medisave and no need to fork out cash? abit confused w the MMP usage & how to pay for delivery charges. we are not sure whether to take private or subsidised rates in public or private hospitals. both parents have enough medisave to cover total estimated costs but not sure if can claim from both? #firsttimemom #advicepls #pleasehelp #firstbaby #deliverycharges #deliverypayment #singapore #claimmedisave

MMP will be deducted off your final bill. You cannot claim 100% via medisave as there is a capped amount (doesn’t matter whose medisave you use) unless you go for subsidised which most of the time falls below the capped value. Eg for mine, I was under private, my total bill was $8K after MMP deduction and I can only use $4K to offset from medisave and $4K via cash.
