Hi Mummies, I’m doing my maternity now with nanny, eating all the “heaty” food. Bathing once a day, rather then that, I’ll wipe my body 3-4x a day (kept perspiring after meal), but still my underarm smells (wasn’t like this before giving birth). What can I do?

it’s hormonal and temporary, don’t worry. it will fade one

OB Don’t check my cervix if dilated, turning 40 weeks now

Hi I’m turning 40 weeks this week. However, I’m wondering my OB doesn’t check my cervix if how many cm already? He only do ctc testing. Is it normal?

depends on the OB and your condition too. I asked the Ob to check mine from week 37 onwards, just want to have some reassurance on my part too.

Baby keeps spitting up

Baby dislike burping but will spit up from the nose and mouth #pleasehelp #FTM

Try reducing the amount if bottle feeding. Wait for awhile before you burp baby. I usually wait 5-10 mins before I move or burp baby after feeding. I stopped burping after 2.5/3mo (baby is fine with no gas, colic or reflux issues)

Helper overly enthu

Hi, I recently had a helper just for my new born. She seems “overly enthusiastic” with my child, whenever my new born started crying, she is in the room carrying him, and didn’t wanna pass my new born to me since I’m there (even thou after her). Shld I b worried? She also seems to be on her phone frequently too, saw that she is on the line with ear bud on all the time.. and keep using the xiaomi vacuum almost 3-4x a day without physically mopping

It is completely understandable that you feel uneasy about this. I think it is really important to have a calm, direct conversation with her early on to set clear expectations, like always passing baby to you first when you are present, keeping phone use to her own break time, and following your preferred cleaning routine. The phone and earbuds thing especially can be a safety concern with a newborn around, so that one is worth addressing firmly but kindly. Better to sort these things out now before habits get too set in, and your comfort and confidence as the parent at home should always come first lah

Weight after C-Sect

Hi Mummies out there, something I’m puzzled about. My new born baby weighs 3.2kg, but when I weigh myself 2 days after giving birth (thru C-sect), I only lost 2kgs. Wonder whyyyy didn’t I lose the baby’s weight + water bag etc

you probably gained through water retention post-delivery. it’s not uncommon

Do we head to the hospital immediately when there's bloody show or wait for contraction? Had light string of blood in my discharge after cervix check last Monday. And more blood like (dark red/brownish) discharge now (since yesterday night) after another cervix check yesterday. Am at 39W4D now.

i would head to hospital. last time i had blood too but with contractions

Yellow sticky discharge at 39 weeks

Hi moms, i am now at my 39 weeks and only waiting for the baby to come out. Earlier today, i had a yellowish sticky no smell discharge. Is it normal? Will I need to be alarmed? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I really feel you on this, the final stretch is such an anxious time and every little change makes you wonder. At 39 weeks your body is doing so much to prepare, and some discharge changes can be normal, but since you are so close to your due date and the colour is a bit unusual, it would be good to call your gynae or head to the hospital just to get it checked out and have peace of mind. Better to be safe, especially this late in the pregnancy, and they can tell you right away if everything is okay.

Baby poop too frequently?

Hi mummies, my baby girl (16 days old) poops about 8 times a day, usually released with gas. The poop is watery, is it normal? She is on mix feeding. Thank you!

Normal, bb's poops are supposed to be watery and won't be like us adults since they are only drinking milk.

38 weeks kkh check up

Hi mummies can I know will KKH check baby weight at 38 weeks? As I had kkh did a check on baby weight at 37 weeks 2 days. And my baby is 3.3kg. so I'm afraid my baby will gain weight at this coming appt. If kkh do check the baby weight for my coming appt, and notice a weight gain, will I be ask to be admitted for induction? Btw my last cervix check was only 1cm

depends on whether you are private or sub, but likely will check. to be induced it’s your decision, gynae can only advise
