Hi, the rash on her face has been there for awhile anyone can identify what this is?

SOS something on my nb face

Since NB just few months old they will either have heat rash/milk rash on their face. Highly advice to wipe face with lukewarm water and soft face towel. After each bath put on lotion like Kodomo Powder Lotion or Cetaphil Advanced Pro Cream. Both safe on face/body. Use twice a day or when needed.

I have a 2.5 month old. He was taking the bottle from week 1 as he was not latching well, so I was giving him EBM in a bottle. When he was 1.5 months old he fell sick and so I latched him directly as I heard the antibodies will help him. However after this, he has refused the bottle completely and will cry and gag when we give him a bottle. He will only want direct latching. I have tried other bottle brands, I’ve tried having someone else feed him while I’m in another room, I’ve tried nipple shields. But no progress. I am starting work soon and will need to send him to IFC. I don’t know what to do as the IFC informed they only bottle feed and wont feed the baby through syringe/cup feeding. Please help!!

did you try changing the teats? to a faster flow?

What causes GD?

Just kinda puzzled why some mummies have GD while some don't? Asking this because I'll be gg on a holiday with my SIL. Both of us are pregnant, I'm on 28th wk while SIL is on 24th wk. She was just diagnosed with GD while I don't. Weirdly I'm the one with the super sweet tooth and she has been the healthy one, exercising and taking care of her diet. I've been craving for teh tarik almost everyday since 1st tri and I never curbed it but my SIL hardly eats sweet things but she has GD! So weird! Not sure if this is genetic cz my fam has no one with diabetes but my late mother in law had it. Or does it also depend on our carb intake? Cz I'm someone who hates rice while my hub's family loves it. I only eat noodle/pasta occasionally as I'm more of a meat eater. But I can never ever resist a sweet dessert/drink. It's gg to be a holiday with lots of food and I'm gonna feel so guilty if I were to eat in front of her. Hmmmm

Week 9 NB super cranky during feeds

Hello. My 9 week NB has been super fussy and cranky during feeds. - start the feed well but once reached 40ml~ will fuss and cry - try to burp no gas. Keeps crying - After soothing try to force feed, cry but will eventually drink. This process keeps repeating throughout the feed. Anyone experienced/ing the same?

Try not to force feed, it will make them associate feeding = something scary overtime. Check if the teats is too fast/slow for him/her, at 9 weeks, my baby is using size 0 (Avent). Or if it doesn’t work, switch a bottle. Or maybe he/she’s just not too hungry yet. I feed on demand (she will cry for milk every 2-2.5 hours) and had no issues. If she doesn’t want anymore, I’ll just wait till she sleeps or try to feed up the rest within the next 30mins - 1 hour.

Hi has anyone’s new born baby boy hasn’t gotten his two testicles yet? My son only has one showing and the other one hasn’t come down yet.

If this is a concern, perhaps you can bring for a check or during the next check with doctor have this questions/concern raised in order for you to know more. Also to ensure that your baby's doing okay.

Hi parents! Looking for any reviews for infant care at My First Skool at Fajar

Im looking to enrol my son into infant care in My First Skool at Fajar (Bukit Panjang). Anyone has any reviews on this Skool branch?

From what I've heard around the Bukit Panjang area, the Fajar branch generally gets good feedback, one mum I know has had both her kids there since infant care days and said the teachers are very loving and the children genuinely look forward to going in. The principal and teachers do seem to come up consistently as a strong point, which matters a lot especially for infant care where you really need to trust the caregivers. That said, I'd still pop by for a visit yourself to get a feel for the environment and ask about the infant care routines directly, since every child settles differently. On balance, the feedback leans positive for this branch specifically, so it seems worth considering seriously.

Feeding issues for 2 month+ baby

My 2month+ LO is taking as long as 50min to finish one feed. During feed, she will play with bottle teat, become fussy, cry or become sleepy. Most of times, my LO can finish her feed by calming her down or finding ways to keep her awake.. but it's really very frustrating . We have even increased the teat flow but things are not improving. Did anyone face the same issue before?

Braxton Hicks at 27 weeks

Has any mommy experienced Braxton Hicks before 3rd trimester? Kinda worried if I'll get preterm labour. I've been feeling it since a month ago (since abt 24 weeks). Feels very early to have this right now at 27 gg to 28 weeks cz for my 1st pregnancy, I only felt it aft 33 or 34 weeks and I dont rmbr it to feel this tight with some back pain. Now at 27 weeks, I'm getting more of it, not regular. Consulted my doctor and he prescribed me a medicine to reduce contractions and explained to us abt the risk of preterm labour. I just went for my glucose test, not sure of the results yet. Scared I'll have GD too cz tt will also increase my risk of preterm birth.

Braxton Hicks in the second trimester is actually more common than people think, it can happen from around 20 weeks onwards, especially in subsequent pregnancies, so you're not alone in experiencing it earlier this time. The key thing I've heard is that true Braxton Hicks usually eases off when you rest, change position, or drink water, whereas real contractions tend to stay regular and don't let up no matter what you do, so that's a useful thing to watch for. The back pain alongside the tightening is worth monitoring closely though, and since your doctor has already prescribed medication to reduce contractions and flagged the preterm risk, that tells me he's taking it seriously, which is actually reassuring in a way. One mum I know was told to track whether the tightenings come more than four times in an hour, and to head in if they do, rather than waiting it out at home. You're already in good hands with your doctor keeping an eye on things, but if anything feels different or the frequency picks up, do loop back with your OB or specialist rather than wait for the next scheduled visit.
