Hihi. How do you all sterilize silicon baby utensils? Also, how many spoons of puree do you all try to feed first? I tried last week and my bb totally don't wanna accept. :/ TIA

hihi for me, I use steam sterilizer or sterilizer tablet with water to clean the silicon utensils. the item u purchase should have instructions? I tried rice cereal, and the baby only ate a few spoonfuls.

Hello mummies, I recently just started BLW with my baby but always worry about the choking risk. Is there anyone here who can share more about their experience?

Rules of thumb that I find useful is making sure that the solid food can be easily squished with my fingers. If not, it’s not safe for my baby. Gagging is normal and unavoidable, even if you serve puréed food. If the baby looks red, the baby is fine. If the baby turns blue, the baby is choked. I always practice the chocking first aid in my mind, just in case. Keep your eyes on your baby at all time. Don’t get distracted by phone and etc. It’s not only for chocking, older baby is capable of standing up in the high chair, hence the risk of falling.

6 months baby fell down

My baby just fell from the bed and my heart sank. He cried so hard and I cried too. So far no bruise and he is active. Should I bring him to see the doc?

hi mommy. the same happened to mine. I was very upset and worried. i monitored him throughout the day and thankfully, he was back to himself after the fall, so I didn't bring him to the doctor. it's been a few weeks since the fall and so far, he is well. I hope your baby is ok ❤️

Introducing Solids

Hi.. ftm here. What is the first food you intro to your baby? Do I feed the same food for 3 days? 1 teaspoon per day? Also do we actually need to sterilize baby utensils..? Thank you.

Rice cereal, jar puree, fruit puree (5.5m) Porridge, steam carrots/veg sticks, eggs (6-7M onwards) I give different food daily. I didn’t sterilise baby utensils.

Can I travel to Batam at week 10?

I have previously booked a ferry trip to Batam before I was pregnant. The trip is next mth and I will be week 10 then. Would it be OK to travel by ferry?

Losing Prepregnancy weight

Mummies, is it okay to fast 3 days while BF? I couldn't shed the last 8kg and I'm feeling so depressed... i got to admit I eat little but I drink a cup of zero sugar milktea (my source of happy food) to keep my sanity.. On the other hand, I am feeling so sad as I couldnt fit into my old clothing. Any recommendations to lose weight fast?

I feel u. Me too. However, weight loss isn't my priority now as it is not really possible to reduce weight while eating to bf. But i am making effort to reduce junk food and excerise more. N hope to slowly cut the weight back to pre preg in a year time.

Advice on travelling to Taiwan

Hello anybody experience bringing baby to Taiwan? How is it like? Also, open to recommendations to go with a 10month old baby. Thank you :)

Wah, Taiwan with a 10-month-old sounds so fun! From what I've heard, babywearing tends to work better than a stroller at that age since some areas have uneven ground, though if you do bring a stroller, make sure you have a wind and rain cover because the weather can be unpredictable. Someone in my mum group mentioned packing easy-to-remove layers and a cosy hoodie since temperatures can vary quite a bit between day and night. For getting around, the Taipei Metro is quite baby-friendly and you can get an EasyCard which has concession rates, so that's worth considering over taxis. Overall most parents I know came back saying Taiwan is pretty family-friendly, just pack light and flexible, you'll be fine!

Rashes on the neck and underneath the chin

Hi mummies, my LO has been drooling and sucking his fingers till rashes appear on his neck and chin.. I have been applying cetaphil baby lotion but it doesn't help Any solution to ease the rashes?

Try Sudocrem! It works well for my bb for drool and heat rash.

Exercising after C Sect

Hello C Sect mummies. When do you all start exercising again after c section? I felt I'm ready to do so but cannot stop worrying my wound. Phobia lol.

hello fellow csect momma, I also feel I'm ready!! but I decided to take it slow- after 4 months then slowly ease back into exercising. so I'm counting down to start exercising in September! I have my whole lifetime to exercise hehe but the period to rest is only now for a better recovery!
