Daily schedule with helper on 1 month old baby

Hello All, how do u all plan/split ur time table/schedule with ur helper taking care of newborn? House chores, feeding, changing diaper, cooking etc

Ill let my helper to do mainly the house chores eg sweeping the floors. She will helps me changing diapers and feeding too if im pumping. But if she is having her meals i will take over the feeding or handling the baby. And also if my baby is in her arms then ill do the house chores eg washing plates so she wont feel too burden. And i dont let her do cooking.

Any tips on baby coughing and having flu?

Hi my 7 month old baby has been having the flu for a couple of weeks and had even went to the KKH cos his oxygen level was down . Doctor mentioned that he just gotten a few flu viruses at once and it will take time to fully recover. So I was wondering, do any mom have any tips on helping to ease a baby’s nose congestion and cough? My baby seems to cough every night and he tends to swallow his phlegm back. Idk how/what I’m supposed to do. Does putting on air humidifier with essential oil works? What kind of essential oil to use? What other method there is? Really appreciate for this. #firstbaby #FTM #babyflu #remedies

I really feel you on this, having a 7 month old with persistent cough and congestion is so exhausting and worrying, especially after a KKH visit. What helped my little one was elevating one end of the cot mattress slightly so the head is a bit higher, which makes it easier for them to breathe at night and helps the mucus drain a little. For the humidifier, I would be careful with essential oils for such a young baby as some oils can actually irritate their airways, so it might be worth checking with your PD first before using any. Since your baby is still so young and has already had that drop in oxygen levels, I think it would be good to loop in your doctor again just to be safe, especially since the coughing at night is still going on after a few weeks.

Baby girl is reaching 6 months soon but she does not seem to like drinking milk. What should I do?

Can try rice cereals, veggie/fruits purées. Can also give porridge if she’s interested. It can also be due to teething or time to upsize the teats (flow too slow).

Desperate mum need advise on baby’s rash?

Rash started to appear on my son’s back. Anyone know what is this? Doesn’t seems to be chicken pox. Although it looks like shingles but my son did not have chicken pox before. Should I be worried? #advicepls #firstbaby #rash

Desperate mum need advise on baby’s rash?

It is so worrying when a rash just appears out of nowhere and you cannot figure out what it is. Since it is on his back and you are not sure what it could be, I would bring him to see the PD as soon as you can, just to be safe, because some rashes do need early treatment. The doctor can take a proper look and give you a clear answer so you are not left guessing and stressing over the weekend.

39.8 degree fever (1 year old kid)

Hi, it's 1:40am now. I just fed her paracetamol. Should I continue monitor or should I bring my 1 year old kid to A&E now? She is 39.8 degree fever. I guess she has a fever due to teething. Her fever started at midnight yesterday. Whenever will subside after I feed her paracetamol.

Hire confinement nanny or no?

Hello, mummies. I would really appreciate some advice regarding the decision to hire a confinement nanny. As first-time parents, my husband and I are feeling a bit uncertain about how to handle a newborn and manage the confinement period effectively. However, my husband seems to think that it would be a waste of money to hire a confinement nanny because he plans to take his one month of paternity leave and take care of both me and the baby. While I value my husband's support and his belief in his ability to care for us, I have some reservations. He has no prior experience with newborns, and I'm concerned that he might not be fully aware of all the specific needs and requirements during the confinement period additionally he tends to adapt to situations as they arise and doesn't typically engage in extensive research on such topics. He also mentioned that his mother, who raised him and his siblings, will be knowledgeable about handling babies and can cook confinement food using herbs and meat. However, I worry that while their intentions are good, they may not possess the professional expertise required to handle the baby correctly, which could lead to disagreements and compromise my much-needed rest and recovery. Moreover, I have come across information suggesting that improper confinement practices may lead to long-term health issues in old age. Considering this, I firmly believe that hiring a confinement nanny is not a waste of money. Their professional guidance can help ensure that outdated practices or superstitious beliefs, such as feeding the baby TCM/water or other old wife tales, are avoided and that the baby's well-being is prioritized. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to effectively communicate my concerns to my husband and help him understand the importance of having a confinement nanny or how can I go ahead without a confinement nanny and still ensure that I will be at ease to go with his way for myself and my baby to be in my husband and in law care?

Hiring helper for my baby coming in Jan 2024

I am planning to hire a helper to help take care of the baby once is here. However I am clueless of which helpers to select, I am thinking between Myanmar and Indonesia. I will be WFH 4 days a week so watching the helper is not an issue. Is it a good idea to pick a helper with no experience and new? #pleasehelp

Hi, I would recommend to have an experienced helper, specially to take care of baby so that you will also have peace of mind
