If I've a private gynae I used to go to before pregnancy, can I just go straight instead of poly?

Hi all, just wondering as I seen most comments sharing to go poly to get referral. I suppose referrals will usually be to kkh or public hospitals? If say I have a private gynae with clinic nearby, and have heard quite good reviews about him, can I just go ahead to see him instead of going thru the poly route? Not sure if I want to go thru the hassle of comparing ard, feeling rather tired.. #1stimemom #advicepls
