Why is my son making this wheeze sound while sleeping? Unsure if he is having blocked/running nose or is it a normal sound that babies make. My husband wants to give panadol..is it ok?
Please do not self-medicate as certain symptoms may be the signs of a more serious illness which when treated, may make it harder for doctors to diagnose the underlying illness. Wheezing is not caused by nasal or chest congestion. It is caused my the restriction of small airways leading to the lungs and usually accompanied by a short cough. Do raise this issue to the doctor if you feel uncomfortable. http://www.livestrong.com/article/290882-what-to-do-for-children-wheezing-grunting-while-sleeping/ http://sg.theasianparent.com/whats-normal-and-whats-not-in-your-newborn/

Panadol is not suitable for children. If there is any fever, give paracetamol. For blocked nose/phlegm, there are a lot of natural remedies for you to try out. If it is blocked nose, use sterimer to spray and suck out using nose aspirator. If it is phlegm, you can use back patting method to loosen the phlegm.
