Personally, I reckon university level is the best age. My cousin was sent to boarding school at 12 and she did not enjoy it. She went through puberty without her parents and there were times she wished she could ask her mother for sensitive advice instead of her teachers and dorm mistresses. She had to grow up really quick, she said. Good thing is she got really independent but she admits that she secretly resents her parents for it sometimes. The first time I studied abroad was in my second year of university while I was on exchange. It was the perfect time in my life to explore, be free and make my own decisions (both good and bad). And most importantly it was my choice to go abroad.

The best age to go abroad is for university. Personally i went for overseas education when i was in university at the age of 18. It was one of the best times of my life, I able to be independent and make my own decisions as well as take care of myself.

I agree with Claudia; the university age is the best time for kids to explore their identity and gain independence and memorable experience. So this would be the best time to send them to school abroad. :)

The age when she can take care of her own, I feel it can be around 16-18. You should also consider the fact that you want her to attend undergrad college or postgrad college in foreign university.

I went to study overseas alone when I am about 20 years old for my university. Thus, I think university age is most suitable for parents to let go.

I think it would be in the university level. It is at the age where they are most independent and would be able to see and gain experiences.
