Respectful parenting, to name a few, is anchored with these tenets:
- giving kids choices instead of commands
- labelling behavior instead of the child
- acceptance of emotions as a healthy way of communication, whether it's a positive or negative emotion.
- guidance on how to express emotions properly
- "me-time" between kid and adults; parents and kids are given needed space whenever they want to, especially during strong emotional outbursts
- trust in whatever decision; good decisions are great, bad decisions is a learning in hiding.
