Respectful parenting can be practiced though as a parent sometimes the anger or frustration is overpowering! Never call your child stupid, idiot, moron even when you are very annoyed. Do not hit him as it will bring in more resentment. Try not yelling at him either in private or public. This shatters his self-esteem. Always treat the child as an individual who deserves respect, appreciation and love. Talk to him calmly and try reasoning out things with him.
