Sayang, since you're overdue and already at the hospital with the brown discharge, please listen closely to what your doctor says, they're monitoring you and baby properly, so trust their plan, okay? A few of my mum friends have been in the same boat with second babies (sometimes they come their own time!), and honestly the waiting is the hardest part. The fact that you're already being checked and observed is good, contractions can start anytime, and second labours usually move faster anyway. Sending you lots of strength and doa, mama.
