Hi! I'm not a teacher, but my cousin is! She told me that incoming gradeschool students need to already know how to read and write, even if it's just basic skills. They have to be able to express themselves through speech and drawing as well. They have to be able to converse with their teachers, even if it's just asking and answering simple questions. These are just some general standards, but I'm sure it varies with each school. :) Hope this helps!
Hi mommy! Im a teacher 😊 It is best that your child already know how to write and read before going to school because the k-12 program doesn’t require a kindergarten student to read and write. It is not their focus although it will be studied along the way.. 😊 hope it helps!!
