Downgrade my career?

Struggles as a FTM mom and a working mom #firsttimemom #FTM Hello mommies, I’m working in IT field, and anyone in this industry knows that we have to work long hours almost everyday, especially when working on multiple projects at once. I’m struggling in juggling my time at work and attending to my 1.5 yo child. It’s a privilege to work at home, but also mahirap ibalance pag may family na. I feel like I’m no longer at my best like I used to. I can’t be a full time mom as of yet because we are just starting as a family, and we have just bought a house and car. I’m thinking of looking for a job where I can finish my tasks on a day to day basis lang para less stress. But this also means delaying any career upgrade /shift that I’m thinking kasi I can no longer handle demanding jobs. Anyone feel the same?🥺😩

Uy, totally get this, a few of us in tech have been exactly here, and honestly it's such a tough position kasi you're good at what you do but also exhausted, diba? I think instead of downgrading, maybe look for roles na may better boundaries or flexibility (like project-based work vs. always-on support), because honestly downgrading might leave you feeling resentful later when the pressure eases and your LO gets older, and eventually you'll want that growth back. One of my mum friends moved to a different company with the same level but stricter end times, at she said that made the biggest difference vs. taking a step back in her career; parang the money and title mattered less than not working at 11pm, you know? It's temporary season lang na hectic, when your baby's in preschool, things shift, so maybe don't make a permanent move yet?
