Establishing Rules Together with Your Child Don't wait until the helper is looking after the child alone to address this; instead, while you are at home, clearly establish the principle that "the helper's rules are the same as Mom's rules." You can explain it to your child like this: "The helper was hired by Mom to help take care of you. When she is at home, the rules she sets are just like the rules Mom sets. If you are rude to her, it is the same as being rude to Mom, and that would make Mom very sad." Key Point: When your child acts out towards the helper, you must intervene immediately rather than waiting for the helper to handle the situation. Your intervention should be calm but firm: "Throwing things like that is wrong. Please apologize to the helper and then pick them up."

Check where is the throwing and anger comi g from. Ask his teachers and all. Some kids do what they see from others. Or maybe they do it to him and he does it at home. But of course when you see him throwing stuff, you must discipline him and talk to him. Hope your helper is fine and just talk to your child.

I think he might have a kind of territorial sense, feeling that the nanny isn't really part of your family, but it could also be that he's imitating something he saw in cartoons. You could create an opportunity for the nanny and the kid to bond.

Children learn thru imitation. How do you treat your helper?
