Is it ok to use crib bumpers?

As per safety baby act sa states, di daw advisable na mag lagay ng crib bumpers sa cribs as it increases yung risk of suffocation??? Any experience po sa mga mommies who uses crib for their newborn to sleep on? Tapos, is it also ok to use pillows and blankets for them while they sleep?
